Usui/Tibetan Reiki

Usui/Tibetan Reiki is a modern branch of Reiki that blends the original teachings of Usui Shiki Ryoho—the Usui System of Natural Healing—with Tibetan symbols, techniques, and attunement methods introduced by the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) and teachers such as William Lee Rand. Today, this integrated Reiki system is widely used for relaxation, stress reduction, and for supporting both personal and spiritual growth.

Usui Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century and was founded by Mikao Usui, who developed a unique healing system based on energy flow, mindfulness, and spiritual cultivation. This system emphasizes hand positions, palm-healing techniques, meditative practices, and the use of sacred symbols to support balance and harmony in the body and mind.

In the late 20th century, Western Reiki teachers began incorporating various elements from Tibetan traditions into the Usui system. They introduced Tibetan symbols, attunement methods different from the original Japanese practices, and specific energetic exercises aimed at strengthening the flow of energy. As these Tibetan and Western elements gradually blended with the original Usui teachings, they formed what is now known as Usui/Tibetan Reiki—a modern Reiki system that combines the foundation of Usui’s method with additional tools designed to support practitioners, particularly in the West.
